This morning our agency notified us that we have a court date of November 22. In less than a month we will finally be able to meet our son! This is so surreal. After I got the email I called my husband and he went somewhere quiet at work and we were crying together over the phone. Then I was calling my family and texting my friends the good news.
This has really felt like an eternity of waiting and I just can’t believe we are actually going to be able to book the plane ticket. Any family waiting to adopt a child knows how difficult this journey is. Even the most patient of people can have moments of doubt and blinding fear. But when you finally get to a major milestone you realize that your patience did pay off and dreams do come true.
By the end of this year we could potentially officially become parents. This is wild to think about because too many times our dream has been crushed. But I’m so hopeful now that things will go smoothly and the process can continue as predicted. Please God let this come to fruition.
