It’s really tempting to think that we might be able to bring home our son before Christmas. As everything with this process, I can only hope and pray that everything goes well and we can bring him home safely.
There are a couple of positive things that I now know for certain. While waiting to get EP approval, court date etc. you can send care packages to your child. We sent a couple in the beginning. They included baby clothes and also a few gifts for foster mom. We were told not to contact ESWS to see if they arrived, seeing as they receive so many. I purchased the tracking through USPS but even at this point, the website just says the packages are being processed at the post office in Seoul. It was a little discouraging so I didn’t send anymore. Also, you don’t know when you get to travel, so you don’t want to send a package and then it arrive after you.
Anyways, now that we have travel plans, there’s been a little bit more communication with the foster family. The Korean social worker informed our social worker that they did in fact receive the gifts, but they didn’t take any pictures because the clothes were too big for baby A.
Additionally I was summoned for jury here in town the week that we will be traveling. My agency helped to provide an excuse letter explaining the adoption. I called the court house and I am no longer required to serve jury duty at this time. It’s another mental stress that has gone away so I am grateful.
The best thing is-only 11 more days until we start our journey to Seoul! It’s so close and I cannot hold in my excitement. But I have to. I don’t want to overwhelm our child when we first meet him.
OK time to get back to packing.
