Ayden’s not talking a whole lot. Well he babbles funny gibberish quite often but it’s not intelligible. The word he says most frequently and most clearly is Mama. It reminds me of the quote. I used to look at it a lot on my adoption board, but now it has a whole new meaning.
For my son, Mama is every request possible; food, drink, to be carried. It means put the shoes on. Mama signifies a diaper change. If he wants his nails cut he says Mama. All day long, Mama, Mama, Mama. He just wants to know where I am at all times. Boy is it exhausting to be someone’s everything, but I love him. And it’s resourceful of him to use this word with varying intonations for survival and also to get everything he wants.
I know this type of attachment won’t last forever, but I can remember how cute it is now. Well I hope he’s not a major mama’s boy when he’s 16 but who knows what will happen.
